Fellows Network

After participants in the Certificate Program for Public Sector Leaders complete the weeklong program and have their Capstone Project approved, they become members of the Fellows Network. The Fellows Network is designed to strengthen and foster ongoing support for current and future leaders in the fields of juvenile justice, child welfare and related systems of care. This network serves as a mutually supportive group of leaders from across systems. Over time, it is expected that this peer mentoring, provided by a growing number of Certificate Program graduates, will assist in the strengthening of this more broadly defined “juvenile justice field” and help to fill the void of professional development and support that currently exists in this area of focus.

Through its working relationship with many of the country's major juvenile justice reform initiatives, the Center is in a unique position to support system reform efforts spearheaded by the Fellows. The Network provides its members with supports through the Fellows Network wiki, a private website where Fellows can:

  • Post information on their Capstones to gain feedback from other Fellows and Center staff,
  • Ask questions and ask for advice from other Fellows,
  • Access relevant information and events on systems reform,
  • Stay in touch with each other,
  • Access information concerning Fellows Network Calls, which are quarterly calls conducted by experts on reform topics.
There are currently over one hundred Fellows from the past Certificate Programs for Individuals (2008 and 2009) and Certificate Program for Teams (2008).
