The CYPM Community Expands to Orange County, California

CJJR is pleased to announce that Orange County, California has been selected to receive training and technical assistance from CJJR to implement the Crossover Youth Practice Model (CYPM). Earlier this year, CJJR held a competitive application process for the opportunity for one California county to receive TTA on the CYPM at no cost to the selected site–an initiative fully funded by an anonymous foundation. Orange County’s application featured a strong commitment from key leaders in the jurisdiction to implement the CYPM, including representatives from the Orange County Juvenile Court, Probation Department, Social Services Agency, Health Care Agency, Department of Education/ACCESS, Law Office of Harold LaFlamme (children’s counsel), and other partners. 

In partnership with CJJR, Orange County will build upon its current cross-system collaborative efforts to further enhance and expand the ways the County serves young people involved or at risk for involvement in both the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. The county joins a cohort of over 120 jurisdictions across 23 states that have introduced the Crossover Youth Practice Model, including the California counties of Alameda, Los Angeles, Sacramento, and San Diego.
