Our Certificate Programs Are in the News!

Recently, two of our nationally-recognized Certificate Programs have been featured in the news! Our Certificate Programs are designed to bring teams from all over the country together to collaborate with national experts in the field. Over a series of meetings, workshops, and in-depth discussions, the teams plan an implementation project to bring back to their communities in order to drive local system transformation.

You can see the beginning seeds of two of these local reform efforts in the stories below.

Transforming Juvenile Probation Certificate Program

On Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, Riverside County Probation Department addressed the Riverside County Board of Supervisors with an update on their participation in the Georgetown University Transforming Juvenile Probation Certificate Program.

Youth in Custody Certificate Program

On July 31st, CJJR’s Youth in Custody program was featured in a story by Public Radio Tulsa. Previously, Oklahoma sent a team to participate in CJJR’s Youth in Custody Certificate Program.

As CJJR’s Director, Michael Umpierre, notes in the article: “”We hope that participants take a hard look at any gaps that may exist between what is happening in the facility and what the research indicates is best or promising practice, and to the extent that there are gaps, work to address those through the reform efforts that they lead after participating in the program.’
