The Cross-System Collaboration Series

The Cross-System Collaboration Series consists of three conversational lunch and learn sessions and accompanying blog posts aimed at fostering collaboration among youth justice agencies and various stakeholders, including child welfare, education, behavioral health, youth, families, and community-based organizations/providers. These resources are designed to offer a policy-level perspective and on-the-ground guidance, empowering youth justice professionals to effectively collaborate across different systems of care.

Making Collaboration Count: Advancing Data Efforts to Build and Sustain Interagency Coordination

March 27, 2025 at 1:00-1:45pm ET

The first session of the interactive Lunch and Learn Series will center one community’s efforts to build data capacity in order to improve understanding of how collaboration across the youth legal and child welfare systems impacts those they serve. Discussion will focus on how to initiate data sharing and the barriers encountered along the way, as well as highlighting the benefits of interagency data collection. Audience members will hear directly from and engage with four individuals from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, the Idaho Department of Juvenile Correction, and Bannock County Juvenile Probation – all of whom have had a hand in establishing a cross-system data sharing structure in Bannock County, Idaho. A blog post detailing key takeaways from the session, such as getting started and sustaining data collection, will be available following the session.
