2017 LEAD Conference
The 2017 LEAD Conference
The Center for Juvenile Justice Reform and the McCourt School of Public Policy thank all who attended the 2017 LEAD Conference on April 6-7, 2017 at Georgetown University.
Our goal was to bring leaders from multiple fields of practice together to learn how to more effectively move from research to policy and practice, as well as to celebrate the outstanding work being done across the country to better serve our most disadvantaged children, youth and families. We are thrilled that over 300 attendees from around the U.S. and world were able to partake in this dynamic, thought provoking and engaging learning opportunity in the fulfillment of that goal.
The LEAD Conference also served as an occasion to celebrate CJJR’s 10-year anniversary. Watch CJJR’s 10-year anniversary video below:
We were especially inspired by the remarks of Children’s Defense Fund founder and president, Marian Wright Edelman, and were delighted to recognize her as the inaugural Janet Reno Endowment Women’s Leadership Award recipient. The LEAD Conference featured several plenary and breakout sessions. The PowerPoint presentations and resource lists from the sessions are available here:
